Chika has drawn in her sketchbook as she writes in a diary for as long as she can remember. She draws cute, simple characters with messages that are so honest and raw that a lot of people find them relatable. To keep her art financially friendly to the viewers, she produces her art on small merchandise such as buttons, magnets, prints and greeting cards. She’s been successfully selling them at markets, stores and online stores since she graduated with a Bachelor of Design Degree, majoring illustration, from Alberta University of the Arts in 2008. She has been busy focusing on creativity more than the business side for the last few years. As a result, she has been enjoying developing a series of bright, original, acrylic paintings.
